A police officer at the Dunkwa-on-Offin Divisional Police Headquarters armory, identified as Evans Kwame Addae, was shot dead at around 1 a.m. today during a gun battle with armed robbers at Kwame Peprakrom in the Upper Denkyira East Municipality of the Central Region.

Two other police officers reportedly suffered gunshot wounds during the incident and have been admitted to the Okomfo Anokye Teaching Hospital for medical attention.
