Fire Destroys Ballot Boxes Stored at Kwashieman Cluster of Schools

A fire outbreak at Kwashieman Cluster of Schools destroyed ballot boxes from Ablekuma North, raising suspicions over its cause.

A fire broke out early Tuesday morning at Kwashieman Cluster of Schools, where ballot boxes from the Ablekuma North constituency were stored. The fire started in the school’s library at around 1:40 a.m.

 

Officials from the Fire Service are yet to determine the cause of the fire. However, burned ballot papers found outside the premises have raised concerns and suspicions about foul play.

Firefighters battled for over two hours to control the blaze, managing to prevent it from spreading to nearby buildings. Investigations are ongoing to establish how the fire started and its impact on the election materials.

Authorities are working to assess the full extent of the damage while residents call for answers regarding the mysterious circumstances surrounding the fire.
