The District Court at La has instructed the police prosecution team to present a hospital report indicating the age of the final-year O’Reilly Senior High School student accused of murdering a classmate, Edward Borketey Sackey. The report is expected to be ready on Friday, September 20, 2024.

The accused allegedly fatally stabbed Sackey during a disagreement over whose parents were wealthier. The court, led by Magistrate Adwoa Benaso Asumadu-Sakyi, expressed frustration over delays in the case and rejected a request from the prosecution for a one-week adjournment.

The case has gained public attention, with confusion surrounding the accused’s age, which has prompted a medical examination. The court will reconvene on Friday at 1:00 PM to address the matter further. The plea of the accused, who has been provisionally charged with murder, has yet to be taken.
