A 15-year-old girl has tragically died after collapsing during a severe rainstorm that hit Jarchie in the Bosomtwe District of the Ashanti Region. The community experienced a deadly lightning strike during the torrential rainfall, which also resulted in the collapse of five houses and significant damage to over 200 roofs. Assembly Member Richard Bimpeh reported that hundreds of residents have been displaced and properties worth thousands of Ghana cedis have been destroyed.
In response to the disaster, Bimpeh has called on the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO), corporate organizations, and state agencies for urgent support. The heavy storm has left the community in dire need of assistance to recover from the extensive damage and loss.
